The Nelson area is considered by many to have some of the best skiing and snowboarding conditions on the North American continent. Both Ski Canada Magazine and Powder Magazine have declared the area's conditions as superb. People come from all over the world to experience the deep and fluffy powder snow that falls each winter. Whitewater Ski & Winter Resort is the centre-piece for the area, and is consistently ranked as one of the best facilities for those skiers and boarders looking for an exceptional winter holiday. Located only 20 minutes from downtown Nelson, Whitewater is perfectly situated to maximize your time on the mountain.
For the more adventurous, we have challenging skiing with various world renowned Heli and Cat Skiing companies. Up to 42 feet of average snowfall per season, and a range of 12,000 to 18,000 feet of vertical, leave the most avid skier's heart thumping. Eco-friendly lodging and certified guides help you experience untracked bowls, spacious glades and peaks well above the tree lines.
