Shawn Michael Morris: Born in Victoria BC, moved to Nelson 10 days later and have resided here for the most part of my 31 years. Have worked for the ministry of forests fighting fires in the summers for 12 years. Although a consuming and somewhat grueling job, it has allowed me many freedoms in the off season. I have filled my time with travel, education, and business. My passion for the outdoors in general and even more specifically for the kootenays with it's majestic, endless, and always awe inspiring terrain, combined with the countless number of diverse, passionate and inspiring people who make up our community, has lead to an amazing journey transformed through the lens.
My photography has taken many paths from fashion, advertising, and architectural photography, to weddings and editorial. My excitement purely lies in outdoor adventure photography and I have been published in numerous books and magazines including Bike, Kootenay Mountain Culture, Pedal, Skier, Launchmtb, Australian Snowboard Magazine, and HOBO. I currently have work displayed in various establishments around Nelson including The Flying Squirrel International Hostel, Mazatlan Restaurant, Mikes Place Pub, and Swingers Squash Club.
